Who we are

Kelsey

Owner and Certified Pet Stylist

My love for animals, especially dogs, has always been a big part of who I am. I started grooming because of my own dogs, and my passion grew from there. I worked at a doggy daycare for a few years before deciding to pursue grooming school. After graduation, I began working as a bather at a salon in Lake Country.

As I gained experience, I started building my own business, grooming on weekends at the daycare I once worked at in Vernon. I also worked as a groomer at a kennel in Armstrong, all while continuing to grow my customer base.

When Robert and I found out we were expecting, I left my bather job and started working as a groomer in a pet store in Salmon Arm. Between working at two places, I gained invaluable experience and skills.

After our child was born, I shifted to focusing solely on my business on weekends, keeping my loyal clients while slowly transitioning from using the daycare's space to working mobile. Although my clients appreciated the convenience of having me come to their homes, the mobile setup became hard on my body.

After two and a half years in 2024, I finally had the opportunity to rent a salon space in Vernon. Now, with my child growing up and my clientele steadily growing, I continue to offer the best grooming services to all the furry friends I care for.

My Dogs

I first got into grooming because of my own dogs. When I was thirteen, I adopted two first-generation Labradoodles. Despite being from the same litter, their fur was very different, which sparked my interest in grooming.

Ronnie

My Soul Dog, Ronnie has always had a double coat that is flat with a fluffy mane. Plus those expressive eyebrows.  He is easy to groom as he mostly needs de-shedding and hand stripping.

Ronnie is very person and food driven just like a Labrador. He much rather lounge with a person or chase a dog than play with toys.

Roxie (2011-2022)

The Biggest Fluff, Roxie had so much hair that when I first started grooming her it would take me two hours just to shave her.

She was fun, playful, loving and more of a poodle personality. Playing fetch was one of her favourite things.

Certifications

I hope to keep getting more certifications as I love learning all things pet related. Having the knowledge to teach my clients about their dog's fur, skin and behaviour is of upmost importance to me.

I received my Professional Pet Stylist Certification in 2019 from Alberta School of Dog Grooming in Leduc, AB.

In 2023, I received my Fear Free Certification from Fear Free Pets.
